Jake is blown away...but an even more bizarre secret comes to light when Jake’s friend Al, owner of the local diner, enlists Jake to take over the mission that has become his obsession—to prevent the Kennedy assassination. How? By stepping through a portal in the diner’s storeroom, and into the era of Ike and Elvis, of big American cars, sock hops, and cigarette smoke... Finding himself in warmhearted Jodie, Texas, Jake begins a new life. But all turns in the road lead to a troubled loner named Lee Harvey Oswald. The course of history is about to be rewritten...and become heart-stoppingly suspenseful.

"An excellent candidate to show how intricately King’s mind can develop a plot line. "

""Love is a uniquely portable magic. I don't think it's in the stars, but I do believe that blood calls to blood and mind calls to mind and heart to heart."<br/><br/>This was my third attempt to read 11/22/63, and I finally succeeded! I haven't tried in 3 or 4 years, though, so I guess I just needed time. I did this as a buddy read with some friends on Instagram, and I am so grateful to them for doing this with me. <br/><br/>My main issue with why I couldn't complete this book before is because the beginning is not very exciting. I still agree with that. However, everything that happens after makes it worth it. <br/><br/>This is different than a lot of King novels, and I was really impressed with the amount of research that went into this story. It was so detailed, which is why it's so long. <br/><br/>The ending may have been a bit predictable, but I think everything wrapped up nicely. This ending could have been a shitshow, but everything balanced out well. <br/><br/>Thank you to everyone who encouraged me to try this book again - Sadie, Mindi, Jo, etc. Y'all were right 😂. 11/22/63 is a great story."
