Julia Quinn
A New York Times BestsellerThe inspiration for season three of BRIDGERTON, a series created by Shondaland for Netflix, from #1 New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn: the story of Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington in the fourth of her beloved Regency-set novels featuring the charming, powerful Bridgerton family.COLIN AND PENELOPE’S STORYPenelope Featherington has secretly adored her best friend’s brother for . . . well, it feels like forever. After half a lifetime of watching Colin Bridgerton from afar, she thinks she knows everything about him, until she stumbles across his deepest secret . . . and fears she doesn’t know him at all.Colin Bridgerton is tired of being thought of as nothing but an empty-headed charmer, tired of the notorious gossip columnist Lady Whistledown, who can’t seem to publish an edition without mentioning him. But when Colin returns to London from a trip abroad, he discovers nothing in his life is quite the same—especially Penelope Featherington! The girl who was always simply there is suddenly the girl haunting his dreams. When he discovers that Penelope has secrets of her own, this elusive bachelor must decide . . . is she his biggest threat— or his promise of a happy ending?

"I blasted through book 4 in anticipation for the second half of the TV show coming out in a couple weeks. Man these Bridgerton men have issues and Colin is no exception. Luckily by the end there is some redemption as the character does grow into a more supportive partner. I am extremely excited to see how this plays out on the show! This is the first of this series that I’ve read just prior to the release of its episodes and if I enjoy it, I will probably continue to read the next book right before the correlating Bridgerton’s story airs on TV."
"I loved this book! Friends to lovers with all the ups and downs of the journey! #romance #bridgerton "

"While I’m not a huge fan of friends to lovers (I can never understand why it takes so long to develop feelings!) I did immensely enjoy Colin and Penelope’s book. I thought this couple did a good job being vulnerable and revisiting tough conversations when needed. I liked that Colin’s jealousy was explored because it felt so honest and believable.

However, I do think the ending was far fetched at best. No one can convince me Lady Whistledown would be widely praised and accepted by the ton and I hate that the reception was made unbelievable so Penelope didn’t have to deal with the consequences of her actions."

"the best so far. Colin isn't an awful person but his temper is like a little worrying. overall I quite liked Penelope and Colin and their story as a whole. I liked that they were older and closer in age than most the the couples in this series. I was quite sick of 30 year olds going after 18 and 20 year olds"
"Read the books after watching the seasons, and the book just made me fall more in love with Polin! Beautifully written! **** was 3/5 in terms of spicy for me! "
