"Wtf did I just read… and why do I want to read the sequel? Whhhyy did it end on THAT cliffhanger!!?? ☠️ Let me explain. I knew that it was not suitable for certain people and situations… and I decided to be brave. And oh, brave I was to finish this book. Let me just say, I was… disgusted, intrigued, and confused the entirety of this read. "

"Dear H.D. Carlton... were you ok when you wrote this book? There is so much to unpack here's This was my first dark depraved romance. I guess there are people out there who like this sort of thing. It had so much potential for a good spooky detective romance. But that's not what we get. We get a young woman Adeline stalked by a vigilante ( can't remember what his job was) Zade is his name, who goes after people who s*x traffic and abuse women and children. ( he tries to save the women and children ). He's does exactly what he fights against to our FMC and tries to tell her what she will do with her body. Adeline did not help her case, where she was going back and forth with how she felt with what he was doing to her body. Not to give too much away.. there's a haunting which is lost in the story. There is so much depraved s*x, S/A, I guess you can use R**e. To the point where I was like Zade leave Adeline's poor V**ina alone. And then a short attentioned spanned mystery. With a lacklustre reveal at the very end. What kept me interested was not the s*x.. (I'm a gay man) but the potential mystery. I give this 2.75 stars.
