Featuring gorgeous gold color sprayed edges! Somewhere Beyond the Sea is the hugely-anticipated sequel to TJ Klune's TheHouse in the Cerulean Sea, one of the best-loved and best-selling fantasy novels of the past decade. A magical house. A secret past. A summons that could change everything. Arthur Parnassus lives a good life built on the ashes of a bad one. He’s the master of a strange orphanage on a distant and peculiar island, and he hopes to soon be the adoptive father to the six dangerous and magical children who live there. Arthur works hard and loves with his whole heart so none of the children ever feel the neglect and pain that he once felt as an orphan on that very same island so long ago. He is not alone: joining him is the love of his life, Linus Baker, a former caseworker in the Department In Charge of Magical Youth. And there's the island's sprite, Zoe Chapelwhite, and her girlfriend, Mayor Helen Webb. Together, they will do anything to protect the children. But when Arthur is summoned to make a public statement about his dark past, he finds himself at the helm of a fight for the future that his family, and all magical people, deserve. And when a new magical child hopes to join them on their island home—one who finds power in calling himself monster, a name that Arthur worked so hard to protect his children from—Arthur knows they’re at a breaking point: their family will either grow stronger than ever or fall apart. Welcome back to Marsyas Island. This is Arthur’s story. Somewhere Beyond the Sea is a story of resistance, lovingly told, about the daunting experience of fighting for the life you want to live and doing the work to keep it.

"I loved this book sooo much! It took a few chapters for me to really get into it, but once I did I could hardly put it down! It was pretty long and the plot wasn't particularly fast paced, but it was amazing and quite humorous! It was so great diving back into this world and getting to know these amazing, complex, lovable characters better! Arthur and Linus are so amazing together, and I loved getting to see Arthur use his powers! David was a fun addition to this book, and ended up being a really great character! I adored all of the kids, though I'd have to say that Lucy is still my favorite! I also loved getting to see Sal come out of his shell and grow into himself, becoming the unofficial leader of the seven kids. This book has an amazing found family, a wonderful and cozy island setting, and the writing is beautiful! There are definitely some heavier themes explored, so maybe check the trigger warnings. If you enjoyed The House in the Cerulean Sea then this book is a must read!"
"Somewhere Beyond the Sea by T. J. Klune 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was an approved NetGalley Arc of the first four chapters.
This second book kicks back off sometime close to where book one ended. It's so good being with this family again and learning some new things that have happened and what the future for this family could bring. I can't wait for the whole book, it's gonna be another banger!"
"I read the first one two years ago and absolutely loved it. Then, in March of this year, I found out he was making a sequel, and I freaked out. I bought it from a local bookstore, and I finished that night. It was probably one of the best reads I’ve had in a while. Spoilers ahead! The introduction of David couldn’t have been done in a better way, and showing how corrupt the government was incredible. I love how Klune made similarities between the current government and the DICOMY/DICOMA, but without it being too obvious. All in all, I would 100% recommend this book to anyone who asked, and I will most definitely be rereading this book to no end. "
