A book that “speak[s] volumes about our need for connection—human, feline or otherwise” (The San Francisco Chronicle), The Travelling Cat Chronicles is a life-affirming anthem to kindness and self-sacrifice that shows how the smallest things can provide the greatest joy—the perfect gift for cat lovers and travellers! We take journeys to explore exotic new places and to return to the comforts of home, to visit old acquaintances and to make new friends. But the most important journey is the one that shows us how to follow our hearts...An instant international bestseller and indie bestseller, The Travelling Cat Chronicles has charmed readers around the world. With simple yet descriptive prose, this novel gives voice to Nana the cat and his owner, Satoru, as they take to the road on a journey with no other purpose than to visit three of Satoru's longtime friends. Or so Nana is led to believe... With his crooked tail—a sign of good fortune—and adventurous spirit, Nana is the perfect companion for the man who took him in as a stray. And as they travel in a silver van across Japan, with its ever-changing scenery and seasons, they will learn the true meaning of courage and gratitude, of loyalty and love.On New York Post's Required Reading List

"This book seems at first to be a light read, but is emotionally gripping and instructive. Friendship, loyalty."

"I gave it 4 stars because I have never cried so hard at a book- I wanted to give it 3 because it feels written for juveniles but it really pulled my heartstrings at two points so I’m going for 4 stars ⭐️"

"<i>"My story will be over soon. But it’s not something to be sad about. As we count up the memories from one journey, we head off on another. Remembering those who went ahead. Remembering those who will follow after. And someday, we will meet all those people again, out beyond the horizon."</i><br/><br/>I knew what was going to happen and I was still suckerpunched to the gut. <br/>Never trust books that revolve around a cute animal, your heart will end up in shambles and you'll have used half the tissuebox you should keep at hand around books likes these.<br/><br/>This was the first book chosen for the tiny bookclub a few friends and I started. Book I chose myself, since out of a lottery I was the first one to choose what we'd read. Luckily for me, I quite enjoyed it.<br/>Now I gotta wait for their own opinions.<br/><br/>The author (And translator, bless his hard work.) carry you in such a smooth trip on this book (And then literally on a trip) that I ended up finishing it in a matter of a few hours. It's a homey book, if you may. <br/>You're engulfed by the warm environment created in the story, and the foreboding hits you only at the end, when you're far too emotionally compromised to turn away.<br/>Or maybe I'm just a softie.<br/><br/>All in all, read this book if you want a healthy mix of happy and sad tears. Just be sure to hug your pets close between each chapter.<br/>"
"As someone who loves cats very much this was a delight to read. The relationship between Satoru and Nana is charming and lovely. "

"I absolutely loved this book. I couldn’t put it down and I couldn’t stop turning the pages. It has a beautiful perspective of the relationship between cats and their owners and had me crying at 2 am whilst trying to make the final pages last. If you want to het back into reading or want another good book to enjoy this one is for you! #mustread "
