Callie Hart
From USA Today Bestselling Author Callie Hart comes a highly addicting enemies-to-lovers Romantasy with razor-sharp banter, heart-stopping action, and blistering hot romance that you won’t be able to put down! Do not touch the sword. Do not turn the key. Do not open the gate. Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses, or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen’s reservoirs for as long as she can remember. In the land of the unforgiving desert, there isn’t much a girl wouldn’t do for a glass of water. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone. When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares…but it turns out they’re real, and Saeris has landed right in the middle of a centuries-long conflict that might just get her killed. The first of her kind to tread the frozen mountains of Yvelia in over a thousand years, Saeris mistakenly binds herself to Kingfisher, a handsome Fae warrior, who has secrets and nefarious agendas of his own. He will use her Alchemist’s magic to protect his people, no matter what it costs him… or her. Death has a name. It is Kingfisher of the Ajun Gate. His past is murky. His attitude stinks. And he’s the only way Saeris is going to make it home. Be careful of the deals you make, dear child. The devil is in the details...N.B. "… you’re KIDDING????
Let me start out by saying I had my doubts at first. It was slow and boring and I was left wondering where it was about to go. I was ripping through the pages at about halfway.
This book gave me so much! It had spice and dead gods… KINGFISHERRRRR????? That man is 🥵🤤🤤🤤🤤 It had enemies to lovers, secrets, vampires, fae and so so much drama. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book! The ending was such a cliff hanger and I ate it right up"
"The audio of this book is exceptional, don’t deny yourself the listen. Saeris is a strong female lead and Kingfisher is definitely moving into one of my top 3 book boyfriend spots. He had me in an absolute chokehold. Enemies to lovers and the sexual tension is fire. I loved the world and the magic system. I am bummed that I have to wait so long for the next book to be released. "
"<strong>THIS IS IN MY TOP FAV OF ALL TIME</strong><br/><br/>"I'll be grateful for every second that I can say that I belong to you, Saeris Fane. Eighty years or eighteen hours. It doesn't matter to me. It'll still be the highest honor of my life.”<br/><br/>THIS BOOK. THIS BOOK RIGHT HERE. <br/><br/>Listen, I would normally say I’m kinda picky when it comes to books that I read. I can also easily be deterred from a book over silly things (in this case it was the quote “Don’t open the gate.” that don’t really seem to matter but for me they do. That being said don’t let anyone’s opinion of this stop you from reading this book!!! It blew me out of the water. The world building and character development was phenomenal. So much so that I didn’t care that it was a slow burn (I normally will DNF a slow burn). <br/><br/>AND FISHER!!! Omgg. He is in my top book boyfriends of all time. I love, no I OBSESS, over a broken grumpy man. He’s everything. <br/><br/>JUST READ IT!"
