Meghan Chase has a secret destiny – one she could never have imaginedMy name is Meghan Chase. In less than twenty–four hours I'll be sixteen. Countless stories, songs and poems have been written about this wonderful age, when a girl finds true love and the stars shine for her and the handsome prince carries her off into the sunset. I don't think it will be that way for me. Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school or at home. When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change. But she could never have guessed the truth that she is the daughter of a mythical fairy king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no fairy creature dare face and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart. “The Iron King is a must read!” New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter

"Honestly, I didn’t expect to like this book. I read TOG and I was sad that I couldn’t rave about it due to the sex in it. (Skip some chapters and that series is good too but besides the point) this book was very well thought out. The characters are interesting and the setting was done very well I was entertained. 13+ for minor cursing. "
"I'm not sure I loved it as much as everyone seems to. While I liked it, I didn't find it amazing. I was actually waiting for Meghan to yell out "You have no power over me!" at the end. It was a cross of Neverending Story/Labyrinth with faeries mixed in. Although I did think the new twist of the industrial age of man was very interesting and entertaining.

I will keep reading the series and see how it turns out. I like the writing style of Kagawa."
