"I really liked this book overall. It wasn’t what I expected. I had just finished Hell at the Breech by Tom Franklin which was the best western I had read so far and SB fell short for me as a western.<br/><br/>As a story of two brothers and their journey... FANTASTIC. <br/><br/>I feel like it is more about brotherhood, family, and decisions than it is a western.<br/><br/>You end up getting really excited when the violent and dark “western” parts pop up, but they are few and far between and short lived. The dialogue and language of the characters felt more like a college classroom than a western to me as well.<br/>The idea or concept of this story would seem to set this up to be a classic, but it ends there. Great idea, just missed the mark on execution for me. For it being two contract killers, there was less violence and less details than I longed for. Too much of a happy ending <br/><br/>A great story of brotherhood and adventure. Sub par western. IMO<br/>"
