"Possession is a really weird break up movie but it’s also a really good representation/allegory for a toxic relationship you simultaneously hate and want out of but also can’t get enough of. Some of the story can be up for interpretation (especially the end) which can be either a rather brilliant thing or can come off as pretentious but I think this leans more toward brilliant! It’s the kind that made me want to go hunting for some explanations and theories. The acting was both weird and hypnotic my favorite performance being Isabelle Adjani the way she moves through out this movie was a stroke of genius, it was like the emotional was leaking out to the physical. But if you are on the looking for a good divorce horror..I’d suggest this one for sure."
"Just a PSA, not a review. This is one of those movies that almost never appears anywhere on streaming that is a gem of a movie. It just showed up on the homepage of AMC + for Friday the 13th. It's been YEARS since I've seen it, but I remember powerhouse performances wrapped in a surreal horror story. I'm definitely watching it again in the next few days. If you have AMC+, and you have never seen this movie, at least watch the trailer to see if this might be up your alley 😈😈"
"My favorite introspective horror movie, sharply focused on the disintegration of a marriage. Complete with smooth, kinetic cinematography, and 2 of the most intense performances of all time."
