"Honestly, ‘Pig’ ends up being quite a very POIGNANT story, but OMG is it ever SLOW!!! 😩 — Great performance by Cage, BTW, so if you’re a Nicolas Cage “super fan,” and want to know just a wee bit more about this story before investing your precious time & diving into it, check out my full review in the comments.

"I knew nothing about this film beyond what I read in the synopsis. I thought it was going to be a John Wick style movie where a man goes on a rampage to get his beloved stolen pig back. I was wrong. What we got is Nicolas Cage at his finest, bringing his subtle intensity to his character as only he can. So I'm not disappointed. I enjoyed this movie that felt like a deep character study into people who have experienced profound loss. It was just unexpected. Sad ending, but well done. 7.5/10"
"This is not a revenge thriller. This is a dark, weighty movie about loss and suffering. The acting Cage does is all in the intensity of his eyes and his delivery of sparse dialog. Less is more. The filming is as arthouse and noir, tied neatly together like someone's moody edit Instagram profile."
"Tbh I thought I would never see another great film from Nicholas Cage ever again in life. And what’s even more crazy is this might be his best film ever."

"Well this was depressing. Slow, boring and pointless in my opinion. It gave me nothing. Cage is good though. "

"This is a fantastic film! This takes a straightforward premise of a reclusive former chef looking for his kidnapped pig into a powerful character study of a man consumed by grief. I was especially struck by the performances and chemistry of the cast as well as the moments of interactions between the characters too, with simple glances between them speaking volumes. Phenomenal performances especially by Nicolas Cage in the lead role as well as Alex Wolff. Great score and cinematography too. Between this and A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE, director Michael Sarnoski has a really great eye for character driven work and his ability to create special moments between them. I am so excited to see where his career goes from here. Highly recommended."
