"Enjoyed this. I finished this after a week. Not really a good reason why just was not in a good mood at all when I watched the first hour.
I’ll say everything I enjoyed. Really like the characters and dialogue. Especially mani he is pretty cool. The action scenes can be dynamic but also very brutal. Favorite action in a while though. Really enjoyed the setting and beast hunting storyline. I didn’t care for the romance at first but cared about slightly after finishing it. Beast had a really unique design which I enjoyed.
A bit issue had first off had nothing to do with the movie itself. Watched a free version on YouTube and would not recommend. It’s censored to the highest degree. Some moments you can’t even tell what is happening.
The secret society whatever felt a little forced. The girl at the very beginning was a character that went nowhere. Which is weird because her and mani were keep interacting but nothing ever came of it. She honestly just felt like a cute face to add. The ending is kind of generic wish they ended it with just him hearing she is sick. Kind of leave it to the audience to make the ending like how breaking bad did.
The blood borne doesn’t really make sense to me. I guess the beast but other than that don’t see how this inspired it. The outfits in the beginning are definitely inspired though. The main actor especially. Just looks straight up like henryk’s outfit. The brothers weapon is definitely a trick weapon though. The pistol I guess could be a inspiration but that’s a stretch.
Will leave it at that because phone is about to die. Really enjoyed slight issues though.
The subtitles aren’t great which bugged me a little. More the lip syncing."
"I remember having issues with this one when it came out, but it really did not get better with age. Choosing Marc Dacascos to play an Iroquois (with cringe-worthy, stereotypical characterisation) was already a very questionable choice, but the movie doubles down by having him play sidekick to Samuel Le Bihan’s chevalier in a pattern eerily reminiscent of The Last of the Mohicans. Add to that an extra serving of racism, sexism, ableism, and a gratuitous rape scene, and you get one hell of a trashfire."
