"4.5⭐️ This film wondrously captures Bowie as iconic mystic stargazer of our time, and I can’t help but think is the documentary about himself he would most approve. No other is as captivating, creative or avant-garde…
However…
I almost quit in the first ten minutes. The beginning is a bit off putting. It seems to be reaching HARD for artistic credibility and pretentiousness…
Once past that though…💥 Full blown immersion into Bowie’s world, through very rare and fascinating footage interlaced with electrifying imagery, and of course, his extraordinary music….
In a psychotropic fever dream you get a visceral sense of the prolific visionary, who he was, the iconoclastic talent AND incredibly sharp intellect…
This is a colorful, dazzling film, truly a can’t miss for Bowie fans, music lovers, creatives or anyone who appreciates imaginative non-conformity, in filmmaking AND life. "
"Don’t get me wrong, it was a very well done movie. All the original footage of Bowie was very cool to see. It was just too artsy for me, and too long. "

"Moonage Daydream, the first documentary endorsed by Bowie’s estate, made me feel like a 14-year-old again for a moment and what a trip it was. Brett Morgen takes viewers on an odyssey held together by concert footage, home movies, interviews, and Bowie’s catalog that allow viewers to really dive into the artist. The IMAX format also gives the subject a larger than life perspective that makes excellent use of the canvas (such an amazing six channel mix) and is well worth the price of admission."
