Keeping Faith: Series 3 (Episodes 1-2 of 6; Weekly episodes through May 10)If you’ve seen season 1 and 2, then you won’t need a Likewise pitch for season 3. In this BBC modern classic, Faith Howells (played by Eve Myles) is put to the test in her personal life and legal work as she wrestles with her challenging marriage and takes on a legal medical case with a deathly sick young boy. In the midst of these circumstances, Faith’s renewed connection with her mother adds layers of intrigue as she’s confronted with the truth and mystery of her own identity. Backstrom (Acorn TV Exclusive, Foreign Language, Swedish w/English subtitles)

If detective thrillers and Swedish crime novels are your thing, Backstrom delivers. Follow detective Evert Bäckström (played by Kjell Bergqvist) as he puts his masterful crime-solving skills – and reputation – on the line when he follows the trail of a recently discovered woman’s skull. Two conflicting narratives arrive: was she killed by a recent murder? Or the 2004 tsunami? Or, perhaps, even both? While prosecutor Hanna Hwass (played by Livia Millhagen) can’t process these conflicting realities, Bäckström takes this daunting case on with unmatched bravado. Check back on April 26 to catch Backstrom in action.
