The Godfather has received universal praise for its acting, directing, screenplay, editing, cinematography, and score. Yup, it pretty much checks off all of the boxes. The film also received the Oscar for Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Adapted Screenplay, along with seven other nominations. When news of Princess Diana’s death hits the world in the 1980s, the world grieved. However, shy, mischievous waitress Amelie’s life took a bit of a different turn. After dropping the lid to a perfume bottle, Amelie discovers a loose tile on a wall that’s filled with toys from years past. Amelie decides to track down its owner and ends up on a journey helping others and creating a world of her own while she’s at it. Amelie captures over 80 locations across Paris and showcases the beauty of modern-day Paris. As Bickle experiences the rotting city, he becomes increasingly disillusioned with what the city has to offer. Instead, he meets campaign worker Betsy (played by Cybill Shepherd), becomes obsessed with saving the world, and slowly descents into insanity. Taxi Driver has received praise for its compelling nature and complex characters. It won the Palme d’Or at the the 1976 Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for four Academy Awards too.

The season and series finale for Shameless, one of the best shows on Showtime, is here! Shameless is an American family comedy-drama series that started a decade ago. An adaption of the British show Shameless, the show follows a poor, dysfunctional Gallagher family. They live in the South Side of Chicago and are led by an alcoholic, single father (played by William H. Macy). The children have to learn to take care of themselves while their father takes everything away from them. If you’ve been watching for a long time, make sure to catch the show’s finale in April 2021. If you haven’t watched an episode of this Showtime original yet, the rest of the series is on Showtime as well!

This documentary-style TV series is on Showtime now! Created by Vice Magazine, the show covers a variety of cultural and political topics through a journalistic lens. Showtime has renewed the show and added a new season following its cancelation in 2019 on HBO. If you’ve ever watched Vice’s videos on YouTube, you’ll definitely enjoy this series. It’s also received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Informational Series or Special

Couples Therapy

Human relationships are complicated and complex. Couples Therapy explores these relationships in a documentary style by bringing viewers straight into the experience of couples therapy with four couples. With the help of Dr. Orna Guralnik, couples work through their relationship problems and learn new things about themselves. This show is new on Showtime in 2021 with a new season as well.
