"Loved this book! Really focuses in on family (the ones you're born with and the ones you create over time), coping mechanisms, and career choices. Harriet can't wait for the yearly retreat to a cottage in Maine with her college friends even if she has to confess to them she broke up with Wyn (part of the group and her partner for the last 8 years) several months ago. She isn't quite sure what happened and she keeps putting off telling them. Surprise! When she arrives at the cottage Wyn is already there, the group has some rapid fire announcements that this is the last summer at the cottage, two of their friends are getting married at the cottage at the end of the week despite never wanting to marry before (Harriet and Wyn making it work all these years have inspired them). Harriet feels stuck but plays along that she and Wyn are still together, lines begin to blur."
"4.75/5 I love Emily Henry and have such a good time reading her books. The jokes in this book were 10/10. So many funny one liners and hilarious banter between the characters! Great story of found family, friendship and second chance romance. This books was so close to flawless. Just like people we meet on vacation the end felt a little rushed as far as the conflict resolution. For two people who couldn’t communicate well they figured out how to very quickly. Overall it’s an amazing summer read. I know Emily Henry books aren’t ever super spicy but I wanted this one to have just the smallest dash more! 1/5 spice level for this one. "
"I was expecting a completely different type of story based off the title. I felt frustrated more than any other emotion while reading it. The constant tension got in the way of the love story. There was also a huge lack of self-awareness and communication skills in most of the characters which was very repetitive and annoying. This was not a happy place for me… "
