" "Don't Let in the Cold" by Keely Parrack is an exciting mystery that takes a deep look into human nature and keeps you on the edge of your seat. While the book starts with an interesting idea, it doesn't quite live up to its full potential, earning a 3-star rating. The story follows Emma, a troubled woman who moves to a quiet town to find comfort but ends up getting caught in a web of secrets as winter arrives. Parrack does a great job of creating a spooky atmosphere, describing the frozen landscape and making you feel the bone-chilling cold. The characters, especially Emma, are well-developed and interesting. However, the mystery's execution is a bit disappointing with uneven pacing and a rushed ending that leaves loose ends and doesn't satisfy fully. Some of the plot twists are also easy to predict, taking away from the surprise factor. Despite these flaws, "Don't Let in the Cold" still manages to entertain with its eerie setting and captivating characters, showing that Parrack has potential as a writer. With some improvements in pacing and execution, Parrack could create an outstanding thriller. Overall, it's a decent mystery that keeps you engaged, especially if you're a fan of atmospheric thrillers, deserving a solid 3-star rating."
