#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • “Get ready to be swept up in a whirlwind romance. It absolutely charmed me.”—Reese Witherspoon (A Reese’s Book Club Pick) “The perfect book to get lost in . . . Josie Silver’s characters sneak their way into your heart and stay.”—Jill Santopolo, author of The Light We Lost Two people. Ten chances. One unforgettable love story.Laurie is pretty sure love at first sight doesn’t exist anywhere but the movies. But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there’s a moment of pure magic . . . and then her bus drives away. Certain they’re fated to find each other again, Laurie spends a year scanning every bus stop and cafe in London for him. But she doesn’t find him, not when it matters anyway. Instead they “reunite” at a Christmas party, when her best friend, Sarah, giddily introduces her new boyfriend to Laurie. It’s Jack, the man from the bus. It would be. What follows for Laurie, Sarah, and Jack is ten years of friendship, heartbreak, missed opportunities, roads not taken, and destinies reconsidered. One Day in December is a joyous, heartwarming, and immensely moving love story to escape into and a reminder that fate takes inexplicable turns along the route to happiness.

"Where do I begin with this, I had so many mixed emotions with this book. ❄️💖💙😍🥹❤️🔥🚞🛤️ I enjoyed seeing each character grow over the span of 10 years and how they evolved. However I was not a fan of what she did to her best friend. I’m glad the story had a happy ending after all, and I could definitely see this becoming a really cute hallmark movie. ❤️🤗 It was a good cozy book to read. 🥰"
"I want to apologize to myself for reading this book. It was very hard for me to get through with it. Sarah and Oscar both did not deserve any of this. Laurie was selfish, indecisive, and coward. Yes, she is realistic and imperfect however there is a fine line that separates between being a pleasant person and an awful person. Laurie had crossed that line. Although I can’t not pretend that she tried her best to work things out with Oscar… but how could anything work out if she was not emotionally available (emotionally cheating). The sudden change in Oscar’s character annoyed me… anything for the sake of plot convenience. Also, part of the plot seemed missing… I won’t go into details to avoid spoilers. Anyways, this book was a big NO for me :/"
"I won’t lie - it was hard for me to read. More than once I almost stopped and didn’t finish it. My stomach was just in knots for the characters. I understand the plot of Jack & Laurie being “destined” from love at first sight, but I didn’t like the secrets - especially from their significant others. All in all I decided to finish - actually couldn’t put it down and finished in 3 days - because I just needed to know everyone was alright. Solid, solid ending."
