It seemed to put the plot on the back burner to focus on fleshing out the atmosphere and the life of the MC. It reads like 75% slice-of-life and 25% plot. It also doesn't have a very concrete ending, which some people may not like. I feel like the perpetrator of the crime was kind of the most predictable person, which sort of disappointed me as well. The book was written well, though, and was interesting to read."
