The world building is just enough for me, not quite Lord of the Rings, reminded me of Abarat with a different kingdom for a set period of the story. I couldn't stop reading this book. The audiobook narrators must have used compulsion on me or something 😉"

I got this book in a bargain bin and I'm glad I did. I can't put it down and ready for #2 that I just ordered. If you are a fan of anything similar to Shadow and Bone type stories then you will like this a lot"

I enjoy the protagonist and am very curious to see what happens. My biggest complaint is with the audiobook there aren't a lot of pauses between scene changes so it's almost jarring when it happens."
