"25 years later and still one of my all time favorite series ever! The first book came out when I was 13 years old and the main character was *also* 13 and she talkes to animals so clearly it was meant to become My Favorite Series Ever that I reread every year until like age 25 and then I had too many favorite series to reread annually so it switched to every two years. I am 40 now and I still dig it out every few years! Though fair warning for an extremely inappropriate age difference (16 and 29; it was a product of its time unfortunately) romance in the last book."
