"This was AMAZING!! I thought it was going to be okay since the first one kind of flopped. But it just shocked me with the intensity and all the emotions. I feel like I was more attached to the characters in this 2nd one, it was just so well done. Beautiful writing, great sequel. But how can she leave it like that??? The ending was great, but what she said after was just "Why would she do that?!" If there's going to be a book 3, then someone needs to tell me! Highly recommend!!"

"This is tough. The first book floored me. I was overwhelmed by the surroundings and learning new things at every turn. Maybe because of all that my hopes for this book were unreasonable. I can't really explain why without giving spoilers so here we go.<br/><br/>Pros:<br/>I enjoyed Minya's character very much. She felt real even as cruel as she was. Thyon's character development didn't suprise me but I was glad he had found away to be human again not stuck under his fathers thumb. I was always so curious what was behind all the doors in the citadel even though we didn't get to learn much. And sugar haha it was always about food I mean when is it not. Ruby alway had me laughing the story definitely wouldn't have been as rich without her. The very end of the book was a nice touch all coming together and setting off to help others with what had been done to them.<br/><br/>Cons:<br/>Well to start that aren't many pros just the characters that came in from the first book. The story dragged immensely which was fine in the first story because you were learning things along the journey. The death of Sarai in "Strange the dreamer" shocked me I had never seen it coming I had believed the whole time it would be Minya. But it was a good shock not often stories can do that so when she was brought back it ruined it for me. Don't get me wrong I liked her and didn't want Sarai to die but the thought that your main characters can disappear forever makes you love them even more. Also the romance killed it for me. I'm not sure if it was the audiobooks fault or the writing but it sounded sickeningly sweet. Sarai transformed into a insecure dimwitted girl who forgot her own powers so many times I found myself yelling at her. Also how Sarai keep her powers after her death was beyond me. What the first book brought to life the second book consumed. It became predictable and frustrating and I hate that it fell so far from where it began.<br/><br/>I wanted to love this book too much I think which maybe made the fall much worse."
