"It was a good book. I had to read it for school. I love how Achebe really described the culture of the Igbo. It fought the view of the single story of colonization. We see how detrimental it truly is to these cultures. There were a lot of emotional moments and the ending is CRAZY!! I probably wouldn’t have read this on my own but i’m glad I did because it was a really beautiful book. "
"Ya I do! I don’t know too much about him but he is from Nigeria and went to school in England. I think he gives a great view on traditional Nigerian culture, the good and the bad. His writing really makes you think hard about colonization and it’s effects. I read this for a college class and ended up really loving it. It’s not a true story but it’s based off of Nigerian culture and according to my professor it’s pretty accurate. "
"A wonderfully told classic tragedy, granting insight into pre colonial life and the beginning of colonialism in Nigeria. It depicits the detrimental effects of forced dominion in an easy to digest story. First book in the trilogy, will definitely read the others."

"A true classic of world literature, this novel paints a picture of traditional society wrestling with the arrival of foreign influence, from Christian missionaries to British colonialism. A masterpiece that has inspired generations of writers in Nigeria, across Africa, and around the world."
