"This book was very different from what I expected. I only had a vague impression of the story: Dr. Jekyll is transformed into the evil-doing Mr. Hyde by some strange concoction of potions. The rest of what I knew came from the musical. Now, I know that there are usually liberties taken when a book is transformed into a musical...but I had no idea just how many were taken here!

That being said, I quite enjoyed experiencing this classic in its original form. No additions or adaptations. I feel it would have been more mysterious and perhaps even shocking if I had read it in 1886, before it became such a commonplace theme in our world."
