olivia_vidal shared a tip "At first I really liked this book. The plot seemed unique and the writing was fun. However, as I continued reading, I noticed that the author had lots of tics such as calling a smart phone a “mobile”, especially when the books are set in the USA where that sort of language isn’t really used. I also found that the plot was cliché and the love interest was basic. I couldn’t connect with the main character. He didn’t really seem like a real person. The setting was like a weird sci-fi dream but not a good one. More like one of those confusing ones that’s almost a nightmare. The back covers of the other books had such huge spoilers for the books that you wouldn’t even have to read the actual book. Honestly, in the first book, Steelheart, you could read the first few chapters and then just flip through to random pages and read and you would get the whole plot. That’s how much useless filler there is. This man writes like wannabe adult fiction Rick Riordan style. The only book, or plot from any of his books that I’ve liked is The Rithmatist, which is actually one of my favorite books so he isn’t incapable of writing haha. Enjoy your read."

He does a fantastic job of making you think you know what's going on, the characters expressing your thoughts and flipping Tthe script on you. This series is the idea of what if only "bad people" got superpowers. Fantastic ending, and enjoyable all the way through!"
