"For starters the multiple pov's was hard to get a hold of for the first few chapters. But afterwards gave great depth to the plot. The story was very complex with many new creatures and races to learn about. I was very curious about the furies and wished the book would have supplied more information about them. The Author never seemed reveal any of their secrets you just had to kind of watch and learn.<br/><br/>Very nice world building. But this particular book seemed mostly character driven. Bernard and Amara were my favorite. Both independent and bull headed so it was hilarious to read about. I enjoyed the race of the Marat and their clans. One of my favorite tropes is a race or culture that is misunderstood only because people have not taken the time learn their ways.<br/><br/>The was a great opening into a new world. Many things were left unanswered. Also bad guys to take down and fresh new start for some. All in all a good start to a epic fantasy seires."
