Bora Chung
Cursed Bunny is a genre-defying collection of short stories by Korean author Bora Chung. Blurring the lines between magical realism, horror, and science-fiction, Chung uses elements of the fantastic and surreal to address the very real horrors and cruelties of patriarchy and capitalism in modern society.Anton Hur’s translation skilfully captures the way Chung’s prose effortlessly glides from being terrifying to wryly humorous. Winner of a PEN/Heim Grant.

"The first two and last stories and the last story are fantastic, however the rest of them sort of fell a bit flat and felt like variations on familiar stories. Overall, good collection of stories, it earned 4 stars from me due to the three standouts."

"I wish I could give this 4.5 stars. As with any anthology of short stories, i had my favorites and ones i didn’t like so much, but i think Bora Chung is a talented voice in magical realism. I look forward to reading more from her as i grow my collection of female authors who are not afraid of subjects that are gross, sad, and disturbing."
