From #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson, Warbreaker is the story of two sisters, who happen to be princesses, the God King one of them has to marry, the lesser god who doesn't like his job, and the immortal who's still trying to undo the mistakes he made hundreds of years ago.Their world is one in which those who die in glory return as gods to live confined to a pantheon in Hallandren's capital city and where a power known as BioChromatic magic is based on an essence known as breath that can only be collected one unit at a time from individual people.By using breath and drawing upon the color in everyday objects, all manner of miracles and mischief can be accomplished. It will take considerable quantities of each to resolve all the challenges facing Vivenna and Siri, princesses of Idris; Susebron the God King; Lightsong, reluctant god of bravery, and mysterious Vasher, the Warbreaker.Other Tor books by Brandon SandersonThe CosmereThe Stormlight ArchiveThe Way of KingsWords of RadianceEdgedancer (Novella)Oathbringer The Mistborn trilogyMistborn: The Final EmpireThe Well of AscensionThe Hero of AgesMistborn: The Wax and Wayne seriesAlloy of LawShadows of SelfBands of MourningCollectionArcanum UnboundedOther Cosmere novelsElantrisWarbreakerThe Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians seriesAlcatraz vs. the Evil LibrariansThe Scrivener's BonesThe Knights of CrystalliaThe Shattered LensThe Dark TalentThe Rithmatist seriesThe RithmatistOther books by Brandon SandersonThe ReckonersSteelheartFirefightCalamityAt the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.

"Obviously not my favorite Brandon Sanderson book, but it's still very enjoyable. This book may have the background context of a budding war and political tensions, but it's really about people and self-discovery. It can feel like a slow start and maybe even a slow book if you aren't interested in internal monologs or characters learning when to trust and when to be worry. Honestly, I really liked it. There are moments that made me gasp, cry, and growl. If you have enjoyed Sandersons work you should absolutely pick this one up."
"☆☆☆ 3/5. Good world building and coherent magic system. An engaging story once all of the characters were introduced and the plot revealed the primary conflict. It was a slow start for me. There are a few action scenes but most of the book is dialog or internal monologs lead by male characters (info dumps). We spend the entire book building up to a war only to wrap it up the last 5 pages.👎The couple female leads' personalities were disappointingly dull and dry. "
"I never thought I would get through this. It felt like 92% foam filler, with so much repetition about eating at large and grapes in particular I thought I would gag.

With that off my chest, I can say that this is a great example of a decent plot and lovely twists draped in so many layers of trite characterization and contrived scenes I wanted to stab myself with a talking sword.

However, as a writer I felt this a good case study: A favorite author, a smattering of genius, and a really bad book. What went wrong? Moreover, how did those shiny bits manage to stand out in the rubble?

Still, at least it wasn't James Dashner."
"Just read gods of blood and powder trilogy by Brian McClellan. Really enjoyed the first and third book. "

"It is a very unique story line and form of magic and just different from other fantasy books. I love just about everything from Brandon Sanderson. His writing pulls you in. I could hardly put it down. "
