Ghost Town

"What I love about Rachel Caine is all the unique story lines she comes up with. I have yet to feel like one of her books has already been written and that she needs to end the series. Usually with this many books, the series starts to go down hill a bit. But bravo, Rachel Caine, bravo! We still have good stories and adventures leading into the tenth book.<br/><br/>It seems Rachel Caine has picked up the cliffhangers again. These tend to drive me nuts. But since the next one is out and I don't have to wait, it doesn't drive me as much nuts. But I can't complain about the ending without giving it all away! I'm not sure how it was possible, considering everything that lead up to it, but I can't say a word. Ugh. I might bring up this point in the next book's review, because it won't spoil the next one.<br/><br/>We see something in here we've been waiting for. The power play between Oliver and Amelie. I've always wondered about these two. It definitely adds tension to the story. And the whole everyone is forgetting who they are makes a bit of trouble for Claire as well. I love Claire's resolve to always try to do the right thing, even if she didn't really want to in the first place. I think it makes her a good character to read about.<br/><br/>It's been a while since I picked up a Morganville Vampire book. So I decided to get the audio. I'm not sure I recommend it. I liked the story, I just didn't care for the reader. All the guys sounded like they were on drugs and the only voice the reader did well (remember, just my opinion) was Claire's mom. The rest didn't fit. It was hard to listen and not cringe when she did any of the male characters at all. I'm not sure I recommend the audiobook for this one."
