"This novel really spoke to me and I really enjoyed reading it. Charlie Davis was a girl who self-loathed, self-harmed, was addicted to drugs and alcohol and she didn’t feel loved by her mother. So she decided to rebel against life and do whatever the hell she wanted feeling alone and scared. She tried to make the pain go away by doing those things. This storyline was an emotional rollercoaster and I felt almost everything Charlie felt. I definitely related to her in some aspects and I hurt inside for her. I wish I could talk to her and say she isn’t alone and we could be friends. I hope that she gets what she wants out of life and moves away from addiction and cutting and wanting to just love, have adventure and be free with her art. I am also glad Riley gets help and tells her the truth about how he felt when he was with her. I secretly wish they ended up together but I think ultimately keeping them separated and moving on with their lives was for the best and their best interests at heart. I kind of wish there was a little bit more detail about their sex life to give the book a little bit of spice but I understand ultimately it was more about explaining a message to the readers about something more important. I am also glad she and Mikey talked at the end of the book and she found out that Ellis was okay as well as concluding her feelings for Mikey and that chapter of her life with him. I think it was a good idea to know that Charlie had that time to make peace with her past so that it would be a little bit easier to move on to the next chapter of her life. I think the elder man, Felix will get her on track for the rest of her life. As for Blue I hope they keep in touch but maybe they need to stay apart to so that they don’t tempt each other with old habits. I believe they should find new friends and new beginnings. *Note* that Kathleen’s author notes at the end of the book says it all.
