"Wow... I mean wow. The only thing I regret is not reading this gem sooner. For it has sat in my Kindle library for what feels like ages now. I will admit that the first 10% or so is a bit slow to start out, but once you get over that hill, it is utterly amazing. Tasha Suri has an amazing way with world building and descriptors. I felt that I was right there in those cold and dismal halls with Mehr and Amun. And when Mehr was in harm's way or felt any feeling or emotion at all, I couldn't feel any closer to Mehr. I also love the character development in this. Everyone (besides the minor characters in the beginning) even the villains, get development for better or worse. The ending of the book wasn't bittersweet. In fact, it was so fulfilling! But even though one could easily leave at the end of this book, I am not ready to leave Mehr and Amun in the sequel [b:Realm of Ash|43192642|Realm of Ash (The Books of Ambha, #2)|Tasha Suri|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1561037103l/43192642._SX50_.jpg|67018540].
