 This book, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, is about a man named Hank Morgan. He is an American engineer and by some strange occurrence was sent back to the 6th Century. He soon grasps were he his and proceeds to pretend he is a Magician and soon uses his knowledge of modern technology to become a "magician" in earnest, stunning the English of the 6th Century with such "magic" as demolitions, fireworks and the shoring up of a holy well. He attempts to modernize the past, but in the end he is unable to stop the death of Arthur and an interdict against him by the Catholic Church
