Definitely not a book for everyone though and you should definitely check out the content warnings before picking it up."

They constantly reference the way he took her virginity and she pursued him and carved his initials into her and so on but it’s a pivotal plot point that’s never explained. She’s also drugged and gang raped early on and it’s totally just breezed over like it’s of no consequence. They’re being blackmailed and threatened but then nothing happens… it’s a rushed, unrelatable, unexplained mess"

bookadict_ella shared a tip "This is definitely a dark romance, I wouldn’t call it pitch black but most definitely dark. I really enjoyed Elena as our heroine. She’s not just mentally tough she can hold her own in a physical challenge but she’s still sweet and feminine. Sometimes tough heroines lose that femininity in the name of strength. Elena easily masters both here."

asha.b shared a tip "yes yes yes! i was a little skeptical about the storyline but that was due to reviews, despite that i bought it because i love anything even closely related to Hades and Persephone and this book is high in the rankings! read the TWs beforehand, read at your own risk, this is a dark romance. i think if you enjoyed A Touch Of Darkness, you’ll enjoy this."

baneen shared a tip "Imma be honest I loved this. I’m not the biggest Kal fan buttt it’s whatever the plot twist made up for it. Hated the end tho :/ why’d they have to have a kid!! Such a common and boring ending. It was a bit messy but it made it more enjoyable."

Many inconsistencies within the story, one minute they are having sex on the beach and then a few lines later suddenly they are on a bed inside. Him being a doctor, hit man, orphan and working within the mob? Its just too much without it ever getting explained properly. Good sex scenes minus where he calls her “cum ****”, “***** wife” turn off for me."
