"I can't deny that John Grisham is a brilliant writer. This book really shows a lot of character. Never once did he leave the reader in the dark about one of his characters that he added in. Following the small town going ons really entices the reader to feel like they are at home in Clayton. Once the bad events start up you feel almost distressed that something this horrible would happen in small town USA. Grisham intertwines all the lives of those in Clayton by friendships, business relations, and tragedy. It's almost as if everyone in Clayton is family by some means. Some apples are sweet, some are sour, and some are completely rotten."
