In this riotous young adult romp for fans of Recommended for You and A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow, a teen girl has the worst Valentine’s Day ever—only to relive it over and over again. After living through a dumpster fire of a Valentine’s Day, Emilie Hornby escapes to her grandmother’s house for some comfort and a consolation pint of Ben & Jerry’s. She passes out on the couch, but when she wakes up, she’s back home in her own bed—and it’s Valentine’s Day all over again. And the next day? Another nightmare V-Day. Emilie is stuck in some sort of time loop nightmare that she can’t wake up from as she re-watches her boyfriend, Josh, cheat on her day after day. In addition to Josh’s recurring infidelity, Emilie can’t get away from the enigmatic Nick, who she keeps running into—sometimes literally—in unfortunate ways. How many days can one girl passively watch her life go up in flames? And when something good starts to come out of these terrible days, what happens when the universe stops doling out do-overs?

"Oh dear, I LOVED IT SO MUCH! It hurt a lot in the beginning - because Em's situation hits close to home - but then it became a perfect comfort book. I love the way the heroine heals from her traumas, perhaps more subtly than I expected, but she really does, and how the author sort of makes a statement, "Things change. YOU can change them. You won't be stuck in this limbo forever. Have courage, have hope." Perhaps I'm taking it too seriously, but it did make me cry a little. I'm happy I read this book."
"It was well written BUT 2/5 stars. If you like the aspect of one of these days being her bad girl moment this is the book for you. I was hoping that it wasn’t but it did, it was highly unwanted and much longer than expected. I ended up DNF’ing because it quickly became a waste of time and the rest of the book made me angry to see how it turned out."
"Rounded up from 4.5 ⭐️
“The Do-Over” is a great rom-com. A very wholesome book, it was the perfect mixture of laughter, teasing, and cute romance.
-as well as a bit of anger. I felt very empathetic for Emilie. I love her character development. In addition to how she took control of her life.
Love the Taylor Swift references, as well!!

Constructive Criticism:
Personal Preference: I wish Nick was going through the time loop, as well. May have been too predictable, but it would have been a great addition if he remembered all the other past Valentines Days.
I also just find it weird how the author described Nick in a few scenarios (e.i “his eyes were hot”). Typically, this description would be used to describe someone angry. In this context, Nick wasn’t angry; there was just burning tension between Nick and Emilie.
I understand most events in the loops were caused by Emilie’s actions. However, in some instances, things didn’t add up."
"This was also good she relives the same day until she finds who she should be for her self 9/10"
