"This is a heavy story about war, loss, displacement, and a trying journey to safety. It touches on some very difficult topics but is handled with as much grace and sensitivity as possible. The truth of their journey is heartbreaking and real. While I didn’t always enjoy reading this one, I am glad I did. "

The story opens your mind to an entirely different world you don't want to ever have to experience. The book left me feeling very privileged and reminded me that some things I worry about and busy myself with are truly not important or as dire as I make it out to be.
