A. L. Graziadei's Icebreaker is an irresistible YA debut about two hockey players fighting to be the best—and the romance that catches them by surprise along the way.Seventeen-year-old Mickey James III is a college freshman, a brother to five sisters, and a hockey legacy. With a father and a grandfather who have gone down in NHL history, Mickey is almost guaranteed the league's top draft spot. The only person standing in his way is Jaysen Caulfield, a contender for the #1 spot and Mickey's infuriating (and infuriatingly attractive) teammate. When rivalry turns to something more, Mickey will have to decide what he really wants, and what he's willing to risk for it.This is a story about falling in love, finding your team (on and off the ice), and choosing your own path.

"One of the best romance books I’ve read. It shines a light on mental health regarding athletes, which connects with a lot of the audience, including myself. Overall, the problems these two face make the entire scenario more realistic, and extremely relatable. Definitely a must-read."
"this was my first audiobook and i loved it sm!! enemies to lovers on the ice was all i was expecting (i don’t really read a lot about books before reading) but it was sm more. the importance of family and mental health and being okay with not being perfect. the ending was super good and the romance was sweet "
"it was good, cute, and spread light on depression in sports. i think it was overall good, but it could of used some more couple content / fluff"

"This book was so good and surprised me in many ways its topic of mental health was handled with so much care from the author and I found myself laughing out load many times at the chracaters remarks and livley personalities as well as have a heart warming story for hockey and romance lovers alike."
"I adore this cute, fluffy, and progressive romance. At first, that’s all it was. A VERY predictable romance between two hockey rivals on Ice. One (the protagonist) is a rich legacy with a father and grandfather who were top hockey players, while the other is an economically struggling kid with a supportive family who just loves hockey. As the story progressed, I uncovered this story was turning into much more than an adorable romance. Indeed; this cute romance also touches topics regarding the pressure on legacies, growing up (how you grow up, do you need to grow up, etc.), mental health for athletes (and people in general), and family. Dear parents, your presence alone makes a huge impact on people’s lives. This book is an important reminder of the importance of being there for your family, an important reminder that just because someone has it worse doesn’t mean that your feelings are invalid, amongst other deep topics. Also, this book was SO FRUSTRATING at times but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Should you pick up this book, enjoy your read, and consider the things that matter in life!"
"This book made you go through so many emotions. I loved it so much. The main character was relatable in ways that hit close to home. He struggles with depression and anxiety, which you don’t see talked about enough in these types of books. But the book also explores LGBTQ+ issues with the MC being bisexual and his partner being gay. Overall i just love this book I definitely recommend reading. 5 stars!"
