"Now, that was an interesting story, especially since it's the 1st book of the author! I certainly wouldn't say it's juvenile - too much violence & spice (check the warnings!) - but it's a good YA fantasy novel. Loved the gothic mansion, the worlds above and below, the tension between characters, and how the heroine bargains for her life and the safety of others. Her relationship with the Lord Under was peculiar and amusing. I'm curious about what happened after the end of the book."

"this book was fun! i really loved the aesthetic and the story flowed rly nicely. at the beginning the main character kinda got up my nerves but it got a bit better. i loved the bother sister dynamic between leta and adrian. also, when it was first starting i thought the romance was gonna be weird, but in the end i ended up liking them together:) the cliff hanger was not ok and i need it to be september so the sequel can come out 😭 also the end 🌟slight spoilers🌟 with leta poisoned and talking to everyone saying how sorry she was literally left me sobbing in the middle of class 💀 overall i rly enjoyed this one :) definitely worth to read in my opinion 🌟4🌟"

"this book was a great read. it had a good story line that could get hard to follow at times so i wouldn’t recommend this book to someone trying to get out of a slump. the setting was beautiful, the characters were well written, and i enjoyed this book. that being said, the main character could get a little aggravating in some of her mannerisms, but hey, i had to love her. the plot was also a little tricky for me to absolutely love, there was a whole lot of things happening to no result. "
