"*WARNING THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS* Okay, I really thought this book was going to be 3 stars BUT the last couple of chapters made it 4. Now, for most of the book I definitely thought it was very cliché. I think I'm now realizing that with interconnected standalones, I get bored or irritated because 1) I already know who the love interests are and 2) it's obviously going to end in a HEA. I make excuses for the writing but by book 3 I'm just really? I saw that coming already, the plot is all right there. I did that with the Twisted series by Ana Huang. I did that with this book because Jax and Elena just fell in love waayy too fast. But now that I think about it, the other 2 couples did as well lol. I thought the whole plot problem was going to be Jax finding out that Elena was the one to set up the therapist for him specifically but dang that twist threw me for a loop. I honestly thought Lauren would make Jax not have the disease because hey it's a romance book, but nope and I really love her for that. She made it more realistic, and it just broke my heart knowing that he had it. And it broke me even more to know what he did. He didn't even think about the other people that would be affected by his actions and that made me angry. I feel bad for Elena also because of how her parents died and how that affected her. I love seeing the other characters from the previous books, it just seemed so nice. I love Jax's parents, he needs to take notes from them lol. This book was okay, the anxiety representation was great to see, and the progress of healing was amazing. Is this my favorite out of them so far? No. But it's still good, onto the next and final one. Hopefully that one will be AMAZING!!"

"4.75⭐ (I usually don't rate books quite like this, but I had to this time because I liked it more than Collided, but slightly less than Throttled.) I loved this book! Jax was somehow both irritating and endearing, which is a confusing mix, but it worked for him. Elena was so sweet! I loved them both, and loved them even more as a couple! The last few chapters were pretty emotional, and there were a few spicy chapters. Enemies to lovers, workplace romance, forced proximity, illness obstacle, British MMC, Dual POV! Definitely worth checking out! "

"JAX KINGSTON. That right there could be the end of my review except I would be leaving out the character that is Elena Gonzalez and to do that would be a disservice to Lauren Asher’s book and to the feminist (women in sports) that I am. This book was by far the biggest emotional rollercoaster that Asher has sent me on. There were times I was screaming and crying at the book and there were times where I was truly smiling and giggling like a love drunk teenager. Asher does a fantastic job of looping you into Jax and Elena’s stories and trauma all while writing a hauntingly beautiful love story. Asher you have most definitely won me over with this one. 10/10"
