"Interesting read. Every character in this book has a secret. Some are easy to figure out but others were quite surprising. I liked Lucy Foley’s The guest list better. But this book is full of twists and turns!"

"You either love a Lucy Foley mystery or you do not. There really isn’t an in between. If you feel like it takes you half the book to understand the plot moving forward, you’re right- it does. But once you reach the end, you will see how all the foreshadowing and clues collected along the way from all the different characters come up again in the reveals. It’s almost like I become a detective while I’m reading and I enjoy that, but I also understand that her writing style isn’t for everyone. I remember being very confused when I was reading my first Foley novel and it took me pushing through to the end to understand her writing structure before I was able to appreciate it. That being said, this was by far my favorite Lucy Foley novel I have read. I loved the addition of the folklore of the area, it gave it a little bit more of a spooky vibe than other novels I have read by her. "

"This was probably my least favorite Lucy Foley novel so far, but it was still an overall OK read. It took me a lot longer to read than her other books have just because I didn't really feel intrigued by the characters. Usually, I feel like the settings of Foley's books are vividly described and incredible, but I just didn't connect with this one as much. "
