"My broken heart, the music, all a must

This book was an absolute great accompaniment to the first. Starting were it had left off. I have never read much like this series. In the first book you are learning as Voilet does, just miniscule things about what she has forgotten. In this story though you are plunged head first into her memories.

Still the world building and dark cold atmosphere is there. The music again latched onto me so I could not leave this world. Helping construct the Author's intentions and moods for the scene. I'm reeling from the story and the music is still in my blood.

Goodreads Rachel Beamin said it best. I am stuck in book purgatory. Although I can still read the next installment until I do I will be unfit for anything else. The characters, their past, their arcs. Honestly I can't think of anything I didn't enjoy.

Stories where two people are destined. Drawn to one another. It's relationships we as humans dream of, but also fear. A straight ticket to hell if you ask me but the ride would be incredible. I love the magic in these words. The weather changing the mood. Agnst tearing my heart apart. Even the hurt as the worthy believe in their suffering.

As the past meets the present I could feel the ice and echos of sorrow as she dove into the Prince's room. The aura he has spent years building there drowning Voilet. The loneliness was all together too real. Everything surrounding him dilapidated and broken. It broke my heart. I felt too much.

Shadow's Kiss was given to me for Christmas, I finished in a day. Of course who has time to wait on a shipment I bought the next on kindle. A day later I need the rest. This story has sunk it's claws in. And really the music....how did the Author do it? They were perfect. If a scene felt right and no other music was offered I would replay some of these or some from the last book. It was amazing and subversive you have to try it.

Voilet's Playlist:

Chapter 11: Hozier- It Will Come Back
Chapter 12: Lucas King- Suicide
Chapter 13: Lord Huron- The Yawning Grave
Chapter 16: Stateless- Bloodstream
Chapter 20: The Pretty Reckless- Going To Hell
Marian Hill- Got it
Chapter 26: X Ambassadors- Litost"
