"The crash gave me one option. That was to fight to live..." Janice Reeves, a junior at East Craftridge High, lives in the shadows of a terrible past and an abusive present. So when the high school had a field trip to the Bahamas, Janice grabs the opportunity to escape and enjoy a little freedom. Unfortunately, on the same plane is her all too perfect English teacher, Casey Rush, who has always been curious about Janice's quiet behavior. What could have been a fun-filled activity for the school met a sudden twist of fate as their plane takes a nose dive into the ocean. The only survivors - Janice and Casey. With nothing but their wits, how will they survive on the island? What things will they discover about themselves? How far are they willing to go when their feelings start to grow?
