"Diversity is so important, but the way this book does it kicks rocks. 🦵It is so unnatural, I thought it was written by a white straight person (nope!). I am pan like one of the main characters, and even I thought her part seemed very forced and akward. Also, the way she wrote to include racial diversity *seemed* pretty akward too (especially Nani-- woof!), but I am white so I don't feel like I can truly speak to that. Hopefully it makes some people feel seen, yet to me it felt "othering" more than anything... and boring. 🤷‍♀️"
