Ryan I generally think remaking a famous movie as a TV show is lazy IP mining and the results are usually underwhelming. That said, if they’re going to do it, I would rather they remake a decent, but flawed, movie like this than have them remake a classic that shouldn’t be touched.

Craig S. It stars and is executive produced by Donald Glover, so for that reason I'm interested.

Phillip S. I can give you that but I just didn't think this movie was worthy of a remake or turning into a series I like the original

Zero P. E. After watching it, I can tell you this is not a remake, just continuity in the same universe. I honestly loved it and I definitely wouldn’t have if it were a remake or a rehashing of some sort of the original film.

Craig S. I know lots of people automatically hate it because not only is it a reboot, but it's really not at all like the movie from what I'm hearing, but I haven't watched it yet.

Craig S. I always say about remakes/shows, if it is good then we got something else to watch, and if it's bad we still have the original. Either way it also brings attention back to the original and maybe gets a different audience watching it for the first time that might not have otherwise.

Phillip S. That's true alot of times movies get back in the top of streaming just like songs of someone does a remake or samples a song then original almost always gets back up in the charts, I remember when stranger things used the Kate song running up that hill Kate Bush made so much more money than when it originally came out lol

Craig S. Oh yeah, I could make a looooog list of songs that got popular again because of a movie or show, which is why I always wondered why they have to pay royalties to use the song. You'd think it would be the other way around considering how many songs that lots of people never heard of get a second life thanks to someone using them in their movie/show.

Rob Paul I wouldn’t bet against Donald or Phoebe tho. They’re both amazing.

Big Joe I don't think an "Urban Outfitters" version of this classic is necessary but since my man Childish Gambino is behind it, it's worth checking g out the first episode at least

Teqia Williams He better be glad I like him. Still not going to see color purple remake no matter how many stars you put in it.

Zero P. E. I wanted more ATL too but I’ll watch just about anything with Glover so I’m definitely thrilled to watch this.

Phillip S. It's originally a descent but not phenomenal movie with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie they made into a series which I didn't seem necessary, leave the movie as is

strawberry I didnt think it was a good idea now we are watching it and I believe I was right. Just read the episode synopses and that’s basically everything that happens, it’s also the tone of the series which is like 10 year girl telling you a summary of the episodes. The secret agent stuff isn’t really a major part of plot.

Kevon Giles Yes. It carries the same name, but it’s completely different from the movie. The tone, the dialogue, the emotion…anyone who’s a fan of Donald Glover and Hiro Murai will love it.
