If the Ringling Bros, Barnum & Bailey Circus is coming to your area, then I recommend going to see it. As you might know, the show did away with their animal performers, but the fun, enjoyment, and energy are still there. Another thing I didn't realize is that they did away with their clowns' traditional makeup, presumably to make the show more palatable to those who feel creeped out by clowns, but this also didn't detract from the show. In fact, it let the individuals have more personality.

Jojo Clowns are the stuff that nightmares are made of. 🤣 anyway, I've been to a few of their shows a kid. I left really stoked about what I had just seen each time I went. They were still doing the animal showcase at the time. I remember 2 of the elephants decided to use the potty during their performances. The guy in charge of them had the look on his face of FFS. WHY NOW!? My friends and I were just having fun 😁

lyzander cross If anything a clown without its makeup sounds scarier to me than a clown with their makeup... Too human the actions of a clown are to a certain extent intended to be surreal that level of surrealism without the makeup to further detach it from everyday life I feel would land it squarely in the uncanny valley.

Brandon Reed They're wearing slightly exaggerated stage makeup, so there is still a slightly inhuman quality to them.
