Topic: Beauty and the Beast
I have a question and something I'd like to discuss. My question is, how long were Beast/Adam and the rest of the palace inhabitants cursed? It's implied that it lasted years if not decades or more. What I'd like to discuss is, the movie clearly suggests at the end that Beast/Adam learned his lesson and became a better man. I would argue that, maybe he didn't. He let Belle go... mostly. That's presented as the noble sacrifice and the epitome of his growth. But doing so almost doomed his entire

Road Master ...staff. If she had not returned, the entire palace staff would have run out the curse. I don't recall what the consequences of that would have been. If they all would have died or were simply stuck as they were forever. (It's implied that years or decades had passed and Chip was still a kid.)

Brandon Reed Paradoxically, if he'd held onto her, then it could be said that he didn't love her, and the curse would remain. That raises an interesting point, though. The curse dictated that the prince needed to love and receive love in return. It didn't say that he needed to become an ethical person in a general sense, lol.

Road Master Kinda throws the whole movie/story into turmoil, doesn't it? What WAS the right thing to do? I would also argue, that the enchantress who cursed him was not somebody capable of imparting a moral lesson. She didn't just curse the guilty party. (Beast/Adam) While arguments could be made that the staff were guilty or that serving such a selfish person makes them a party to his "crimes" or "sins". But I would argue that she also cursed a mother and her child. Also, that the only way for all of them to break the curse on themselves was to further serve him and ensure that he got something desirable.
