Topic: Neon Genesis Evangelion
I just realized yesterday (despite knowing all the relevant word roots) that the title Neon Genesis Evangelion literally means "New Beginning Gospel." What are some anime titles whose significance took YOU a hot minute to understand?

Brandon Reed Well, now I feel like I might be missing something. What did you realize about this one?

lyzander cross It just took a bit into the movie for it to click that Marnie was something akin to a memory

lyzander cross Btw for anyone who liked the promised neverland you should check out Godspeed by Takabatake Enaga. Sadly the author died before the story could be completed but aside from that it's similar to Promised Neverland and I personally prefer it over the former

Heather Gin means Silver and Tama in this situation is a shorthand tamashi meaning Soul so the title means Silver Soul. however Tama can also mean Ball('s). It just so happens that there's another word, Kintama that means "golden balls" which I'm sure you can deduce the slang meaning for that. Dandadan has that as a main focus
