""DOWNSIZING is downright #quirky with a #charming & #unpredictable plot. While watching, I had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA where in the heck this story was taking me, but the ride was #enjoyable. It's not exactly a comedy, but the plot had many #unexpected moments that made me laugh, and some even cracked me up. Whoever conceived this story definitely put a lot of thought into the details, and I think the movie was well-executed, and as odd as it is, I thought it was worth the watch. @cindy_cantrell: You summed the plot precisely, imo, and I totally agree with you — Hong Chau deserves an academy award for her priceless & precious performance; she was a living doll & was my favorite character in the movie."

"4.5/5*s I actually really love this movie. This is my second time watching it. I finally got my daughter to watch it with me. She loved it, too. It's deeper than you would think first going into it. It's definitely got some great comedic moments, especially from Christoph Waltz. I loved his character! I also loved Hong Chau as the endearing and strong Ngoc Lan. She's such a survivor! She has the innocence to her that makes me want to cry but she has no time for sympathy. She has a strong moral code. I love everything about her. It was interesting to see how this new "fix" to the overpopulation and pollution crises affected the world. Lots of questions were asked that eventually caused another us vs. them scenario. And even with a brand new miniature world, poverty and destitution still finds its way because of crooks and dirty politicians. Very interesting science fiction concept along with a great cast makes this movie an all-time favorite. I think I'm in the minority though. "

"To me, the movie has The Truman Show vibes to it in some ways. It's less of a comedy but more of a spiraling out-of-control life journey, which gets better within time. To some, it might be a bad movie, but to others, it's enjoyable. I enjoyed it. "
