Based on the life of a real historical character, the protagonist is not a stereotype or archetype but a messy, complex human being. The movie is epic but the protagonist is so very human in spite of his historical significance.

We are left to decide which one is moral and just in the backdrop of war. Fascinating plot and characters.

It's everything we expect from a movie and it doesn't disappoint in spite of it's curious production history. Timeless, it's a movie I can watch repeatedly and never be bored.
