My Favorite Hitchcock Movies

Cindy said The first Hitchcock film I watched. I went to a vintage cinema matinee with some senior citizens when I was a child, and this movie was playing. Phenomenal. Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly with Thelma Ritter, Iconic.

Cindy said So iconic! To be honest, it took me an embarrassingly long time to watch this. We didn't own it, but I wanted to see it, bought it at our local Meijer and watched it for Halloween in 2008. Awesome movie. The book is also good, but different than the film.

Cindy said Grace Kelly and Ray Milland star in this simple, but iconic adaptation of a stage play by the same name. The costumes are "chef's kiss" as the youths say. Twists and turns, clever dialogue. Keeps you guessing even when you know things the characters don't.

Cindy said The book and the movie are amazing. Well-acted, ominous. I love haunted mansion stories and English manor house with dark secrets in stories. The main character isn't named in the movie and only like once in the book I think, which is weird, and I love it

Cindy said Jimmy Stewart and Kim Novak. This film may seem slow at times, and it is definitely a bit "auteur" but it is SO good, and there are so many amazing shots in it. My best memory of this movie is watching it with my family, my mom being really tired (from working all day) and falling asleep just after a certain part of the movie, sleeping up until a twist and being like, "Didn't we already watch this?" I was like, "No, Mom, you fell asleep and missed the twist."

Cindy said This movie is such a vibe. Bruno is terrible, but I love watching him.

Cindy said Understated, but the vibes are there. The small-town vibes corrupted by a nefarious presence... a relationship gone sour... attempted murder... love it. My sister chose this as the movie to watch on a big screen for her 30th birthday.

Cindy said Cary Grant, yes please! Mistaken identity, kidnapping, a cool blonde who isn't what she seems... Long, but really iconic and great. Music is on point too.

Cindy said Cary Grant and Grace Kelly. Less ominous than a lot of Hitchcock films, but a fun ride. A truly beautiful movie.

Cindy said Sean Connery and Tippi Hedren. The second or third Hitchcock film I ever saw. It has a special place in my heart.

Cindy said This movie is a black comedy and my parents and sister didn't "get it", but my friend, Hannah and I roared with laughter because we love dark humor.

Cindy said Perhaps a bit overhyped, but still a great, iconic film. Watched it in Classic Film class in high school. I've never looked at a flock of birds the same way again, LOL.

Cindy said I wasn't going to put this one in my favorites because I didn't used to like it that much, but the more I think about it, the more I appreciate it and think it deserves a spot on the list. Plus, it has Jimmy Stewart in it, so it's a win. And I love how simple, but yet, ominous it is.
