"The weakest John Carpenter movie I've seen. Which is a shame, because the cast included Mark Hamill and Christopher Reeve (in one of his last roles before his tragic accident). I like the premise of this movie, so I'll probably watch at least one of the other versions. Both Hamill and Reeve were criminally underused, and the rest of the acting performances just weren't very good, especially the child actors. Dumb wigs for the kids and some really over the top sound effects ruined the little tension that this movie could ever muster up with the slow shots and functional but minimal score. Throw in one of the dumbest dream sequences I've ever seen, and some awful baby props too, and this movie really crossed the line into just plain bad. On top of all of that, they try to establish a theme about abortion in this film, but it goes exactly nowhere after about 3 minutes of making you think something interesting might happen."
